Starting Pay: $21.6160 Hourly ($44,961)
After 1st Year: $24.7590 Hourly ($51,499)
After 2nd Year: $25.4798 Hourly ($52,998)
After 3rd Year: $26.1983 Hourly ($54,492)
After 4th Year: $26.9915 Hourly ($56,142)
After 5th Year: $27.7879 Hourly ($57,799)
After 6th Year: $28.6594 Hourly ($59,612)
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Sixty (60) semester credit hours with at least 6 semester hours in accounting AND one (1) year experience in Parks and Recreation AND one (1) year experience with reservations software and/or operations software
OR
Three years’ experience in Parks and Recreation AND one (1) year experience with reservations software and/or operations software
Special Requirements
Possession of a valid Michigan’s driver’s license.
Must be willing to work weekend, holidays, and irregular hours.
May be required to be on call.
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
Performs a variety of administrative and skilled work duties that are required in the operations of Parks facilities including but not limited to revenue producing activities, accounts payable, reservation software operations, and duties as assigned.
STATEMENT OF TASKS:
- Coordinates, implements, and maintains program functions of Parks reservations software;
- Coordinates a variety of training functions related to parks reservations software and daily operations of revenue generating facilities, including cash handling;
- Coordinates and maintains accounts payable functions;
- Assists finance department with maintenance of cash handling functions;
- Ensures accurate and timely completion of accounts payable processes
- Prepares reports and maintains records for facility rentals and special events;
- Disseminates information concerning Parks facilities, program and activities to the general public;
- Assists in the coordination of daily operations of revenue generating facilities, including Wolverine Campground, boat launches, Crossroads Village, and For-Mar Nature Preserve & Arboretum.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of Parks and Recreation functions and activities;
- Knowledge of County purchasing policies;
- Ability to use a computer and associated software;
- Ability to train staff;
- Ability to handle large sums of cash and receipt accurately;
- Ability to greet and interact with the public and staff in a courteous and professional manner;
- Ability to work independently, collaboratively, and respectfully in a complex, multicultural work environment that values diversity, equity and inclusion;
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in writing;
- Ability to attend work regularly and work under stressful conditions including weekends and holidays.
