We are currently hiring a Patient Coordinator, Full-Time, in Bakersfield, CA! Competitive Pay Rate up to $18 an hour depending on experience. The more experience, the better!

The Patient Coordinator is responsible for assisting the front desk, planning, organizing and coordinating daily operations to ensure quality patient care and streamlined access of service for all new patients. Responsibilities include providing administrative and clerical services, input into process improvement, coordinating with referral sources, and managing, obtaining and sharing medical records. Patient Scheduling Coordinator also conveys a positive image of the clinic and exhibits values of respect, integrity, innovation, and compassion.
Requirements:
- MUST have Patient Coordinator experience (or have experience with the same responsibilities of a Patient Coordinator)
Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, direct and schedule patients’ internal appointments based upon orders.
- Coordinator and track external referrals.
- Ensure all authorizations are requested and obtained prior to scheduling appointment.
- Work directly with assigned physicians to coordinate scheduling and resolve any conflicts as needed.
- Coordinate obtaining and sending medical records requested in accordance with HIPAA standards.
- Monitor daily clinic schedules in accordance to scheduling protocols.
- Communicate to Diagnostic Imaging, Billing Department, Administration and staff and outside facilities in a courteous, professional, and helpful manner. Communicates in an accurately and clearly to share pertinent information that is concise in both written and verbal information.
- Provide receptionist services such as greeting patients, answering phones and directing calls, forwarding calls, leaving voicemails, and emailing.
- Follow all HIPAA regulations as outlined in the HIPAA Policy and Procedure Manual.
- Maintain a high level of accuracy and confidentiality concerning financial and employee files.
- Excellent customer service skills for both inter and intra department.
- Be compliant with organizational policies and procedures and related departmental procedures.
- Schedule patient multiple appointments on the same day without conflicts between departments.
- Ability to multi task (answering phones, taking messages, transferring calls and managing other incoming calls).
- Ability to review, prioritize and act on all assigned email communications promptly and efficiently.
- Scan, label and encounter electronic documents into patient EMR promptly and efficiently.
- Cancel, reschedule and move patient appointments as necessary.
- Connect, inform and advise all ancillary departments for any changes that will affect daily schedule.
- Return calls, take messages, and reschedule canceled patients.
- Ability to review and act on all provider orders by the end of the day.
- Maintain calm environment (calm down upset patients, diffuse chaotic environment and identify a solution for prolonged patient wait time).
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
