Job Summary

Carlow County Council propose to form a panel for the post of Permanent Part Time School Warden (15 hours per week) for Ballon, Co. Carlow. Selection for the panel will be by means of interview and candidates may be shortlisted based on information provided in their application form.

The duties to be assigned include the following although this list is not exhaustive and may be reviewed from time to time as organisational needs require:

• To attend for duty at the prescribed times and locations prescribed to perform such duty under the direction of the Council’s Engineer or Road Safety Officer or any member of the Garda Siochana
• To observe fully the instructions for School Wardens set out on attached schedule
• To carry the official sign and wear the uniform (supplied by Carlow County Council) at all times when on duty
• To notify the County Council without delay should a traffic accident and or incident occur at or in the vicinity of the Warden’s duty point
• To furnish such records and reports relating to the employment as may be required by the County Council
• Maintaining a satisfactory standard of work
• Reporting any damage to uniform or equipment to the Council’s Engineer or Road Safety Officer
• To notify the County Council without delay should he/she be unable, due to illness or other reason, to report for duty
• Undertaking any other duties of a similar level and responsibility, as may be required, or assigned, from time to time
