Procurement Technician $22-$25 BOE
Our client in Indio is looking for hardworking, motivated talent to join their team.
Ability to: Review printed documents; analyze and research pricing data and compare product information; collect, interpret and evaluate data

  • Organize, research, and compile data and information
  • Confer with various departments regarding service and supply needs
  • Research, develop, review, and make recommendations on technical and non-technical bids
  • Compile and maintain a variety of routine financial statements, reports, correspondence, records and files
  • Correctly interpret purchasing policies and procedures
  • Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
  • Assist with purchase of supplies, materials, equipment, and services for various City departments
  • Receive, and reviews routine requisitions and bids for materials, services, supplies and equipment; verify requisition prices and confer with requestors regarding the acceptability of substitute items; check the accuracy, completeness and authorization for purchase orders
  • Contact vendors regarding market and manufacturing data; verify prices and legal requirements
  • Make routine open market purchases of standard retail items in compliance with guidelines established by the Finance Department/Purchasing Division
  • Prepare purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and other necessary documents related to the purchase of supplies, equipment, services, and materials in accordance with City code
  • Prepare and issue emergency purchase orders in accordance with City code
  • Input purchase order and requisition information into the automated purchasing software system; print purchase requisitions and purchase orders for review by Purchasing Manager
  • Review, sort, and distribute purchase orders to vendors and departments; confer with vendors regarding purchase order status
  • Maintain purchase order and requisition files; perform a variety of general administrative support duties including typing, maintaining files and records
  • Answer inquiries and distribute approved information; respond to and develop solutions to customer service issues/complaints
  • Perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned
    Qualifications
  • Any combination equivalent to experience and training that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may qualify
  • High school diploma Or GED
  • Two years of recent responsible purchasing support experience with one year in a public sector procurement unit
  • Possession of a valid driver's license is required at the time of application
  • Exercise good judgment, flexibility, creativity, and sensitivity in response to changing situations and needs
