Salary

Salary Range: Up to $62,000 annualized, commensurate with education, experience and qualifications.

Hours per Week

Exempt Position: 40 hours per week.

Essential Functions

Duties:
  • Oversee the overall management of the New Braunfels, TX Satellite Office including supervision of one employee.
  • Provide counseling for small business clients.
  • Perform needs assessments of businesses and recommend plans of action.
  • Assist Director in working with community organizations to achieve program goals.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of workshops and conferences for businesses. Arrange speakers and serve as an instructor.
  • Participate in marketing and outreach efforts that involve travel with the focus on New Braunfels.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc reports as needed for high level executives and boards.
  • Will need to travel locally, regionally and nationally as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Periodic:
  • Occasional early morning, nights and weekends may be required.
  • Attend professional development workshops and seminars relating to small business development.
  • Assist in the preparation of program reports
  • Attend SBDC regional meetings within the state.
  • Attend SBDC national meetings within the country.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university and five years of related professional experience in any combination of areas such as member within a business/economic development organization, manager of proprietor of a small business, or banking with commercial lending experience. Additional education may substitute for experience on a 2 for 1 basis (2 years of additional education = 1 year of experience)
  • Working knowledge of reporting to Executive Boards.
  • Conducting high level presentations to Executive Boards.
  • Experience in managing an Executive Board.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; detail oriented; good computer skills; ability to work and take initiative without close supervision; ability to deal with a wide variety of individuals and organizations; confidentiality essential.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree
  • Ten years of of related professional experience in any combination of areas such as member within a business/economic development organization, manager of proprietor of a small business, or banking with commercial lending experience
  • At least five years in a supervisory capacity.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Access.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting or finance is a plus.
  • Preference for individuals living in New Braunfels with knowledge of the New Braunfels economic market.



Working Conditions
  • This position is based out of the SBDC Satellite Office in New Braunfels, Texas. Selected individual will work in the office 5 days a week.
  • Occasional early morning, nights and weekends may be required.
  • Required to attend professional development workshops and seminars relating to small business development which may require travel.
  • Travel required for local and regional visits and meetings with clients.
  • Travel required to attend SBDC regional meetings within the state and national meetings within the country.

This is a grant-funded position. Continuation is contingent upon funding availability.
