Naas General Hospital are currently recruiting for Radiographer, Senior

There are currently 1 permanent whole-time vacancy available in the Radiology Department, Naas General Hospital.

A panel may be created from this campaign for Naas General Hospital from which current and future permanent and specified purpose vacancies of full time or part time duration may be filled.

Purpose of the Post:

The purpose of the post includes:

  • To deliver a quality, patient-focussed radiographic service
  • To assist the Radiography Services Manager and Deputy, in the provision of an effective and efficient service and in roll out of quality focussed initiatives
  • To perform general radiography, imaging, specialised radiography and cross sectional imaging in line with department protocols; to a high standard of technical quality in a caring and efficient manner and in line with established guidelines and operating procedures.

Eligibility Criteria Qualifications and/ or Experience

1. Statutory Registration, Professional Qualifications, Experience, etc.

a) Candidates for appointment must:

i) Be registered, or be eligible for registration, on the Radiography Division of the Radiographers Register maintained by the Radiographers Registration Board at CORU. (https://www.coru.ie/)

Or

ii) Applicants who satisfied the conditions set out in Section 91 of the Health and Social Care Professionals Act 2005, (see note 1 below*), must submit proof of application for registration with the Radiographers Registration Board at CORU. The acceptable proof is correspondence from the Radiographers Registration Board at CORU confirming the current status of their application for registration as a Section 91 applicant.

And

iii) Have 3 years fulltime (or an aggregate of 3 years) post qualification clinical experience.

And

iv) Have the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and professional ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.

v) Possess a recognised post-graduate qualification in Ultrasound

2. Annual Registration

(i) On appointment practitioners must maintain annual registration on the relevant division of the Radiographers Register maintained by the Radiographers Registration Board at CORU.

And

(ii) Practitioners must confirm annual registration with CORU to the HSE by way of the annual Patient Safety Assurance Certificate (PSAC).

Post Specific

  • Demonstrate depth and breadth of experience in the modality of Ultrasound as relevant to the role and hold a recognised post graduate qualification in Ultrasound, to Diploma or Msc level.

Other Requirements Specific to the post

  • A commitment to provide out of hours on-call services is a requirement of this post.
