The Radiographic and Fluoroscopic Technologist performs quality radiographs that assist the Radiologist in diagnoses of the images minimizing the amount of radiation delivered to the patient.
Responsibilities of this position include:
- Positions patients properly to obtain quality radiographs. Develop rapport with the patient exuding confidence and knowledge relevant to the procedure/exam being performed.
- Optimizes technique selection to provide the appropriate contrast and density of area being imaged.
- Takes appropriate steps to protect the patient from unnecessary exposure to radiation.
- Interacts with the Radiologists to provide the appropriate requests on additional imaging needed for protocol driven exams.
- Assists the Radiologist during fluoroscopic exams
- Appropriately documents the images to notify the Radiologist that the exam is ready for dictation.
- Administer contrast material according to protocol driven procedures and has the knowledge to respond appropriately in the event of a contrast based reaction.
- Maintains the integrity of the equipment and cleans the equipment to minimize any cross contamination.
- Understands the scheduling process to assist others as needed.
Requirements of this position include:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program
- ARRT certification upon hire and Wisconsin Licensure
