Best Lawyers publishes legal rankings in more than 70 countries and Best Law Firms rankings in the United States. Each Research Manager manages a team focused on specific parts of our research process. Candidate must have a strong communications background, project management experience, leadership training, and business development exposure or interest to succeed in this position. Job Summary:

The Research Manager’s primary responsibility is to lead one of the teams dedicated to part of our research process to produce our individual legal awards. Research Managers are responsible for the daily management of their teams, encouraging and tracking work produced, and reporting progress to department leadership.

Research Managers work in tandem with each other to provide mid-level management and project support for the organization's core business. Under the guidance and direction of the Director of Research & Development and the Senior Research Manager, this leadership team runs the Research & Development Department.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position supervises a dedicated research and development team.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Oversees mass email communications for the department through the support of the Communications Coordinator who builds and implements campaigns. Manage communications with our clients through mass email campaigns and personal touch points
• Supervises and daily manager of Best Lawyers communications / customer engagement research team. Lead a team of business development researchers with dedicated efforts towards customer outreach.
• Regularly communicate with lawyers and marketing contacts at global law firms. Guide and educate law firms on research submissions. Explain awards methodology to marketing directors and lawyers.
• Project coordinator for additional projects assigned by Senior Research Manager and Director. Responsible for assigning, delegating, and tracking employees’ progress and completion. Monitor and assess employees’ responsibilities and make recommendations for changes as needed. Responsible for reporting KPIs. Provide summary reporting and analysis of additional KPIs as requested
• Collaborates with the Senior Research Manager, other Research Team Managers, and Director to grow the business through innovation and expansion of the Best Lawyers product line
• Understand overview of legal practices in given markets to improve our products
• Business travel is not frequent but can be required

Education and Experience:

• 5+ years of previous work experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Business, Liberal Arts, or another related field. Minimum GPA: 3.0.
• Professionally bilingual candidates desired
