RTÉ Radio Commissions Administrator
RTÉ (Raidió Teilifís Éireann) is Ireland's national public-service media organisation. A leader in Irish media, RTÉ provides comprehensive, cost-effective, free-to-air multi-media services to the public in Ireland and interested audiences internationally.
RTÉ invites applications for the position of RTÉ Radio Commissions Administrator in the Independent Radio Productions (IRP) Unit. RTÉ has a statutory spend which must be spent with the independent radio sector on a yearly basis to create original and high-quality radio programming. This involves the administering and tracking of a number of commissioning rounds. Reporting to the Director of Acquisitions & Co-Productions and working within the IRP unit, the Administrator is responsible for co-ordinating and managing the administration of RTÉ Radio Commissions, ensuring all aspects of the process are updated and maintained.
The Radio Commissions Administrator is responsible for the daily management of all independent radio commissions for RTÉ radio stations (RTÉ Radio 1, RTÉ 2fm, RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta and RTÉ Lyric fm). She/he will liaise with the independent sector and internally across RTÉ with relevant editorial, finance, legal and broadcast services personnel. In addition, this role provides other Radio administrative support as required, including processing payments.

- All administrative work pertaining to IRP, ensuring that IRP records are process compliant and available for internal and/or external audit at all times
- Publishing and administering commissioning rounds in accordance with the editorial plans of each station
- Liaising with Finance on all budgetary elements of each IRP commission in accordance with negotiated terms between RTÉ IRP and the individual independent producer
- Preparing contracts to exchange between RTÉ IRP and the individual independent producer
- Liaising with legal in relation to copyright and other contractual issues
- Streamlining IRP programme traffic including receipt and initial monitoring of independently produced programmes
- Processing of payments
The successful candidate should have:
- Significant administration experience with proven ability in managing workflows
- Excellent computer skills and attention to detail
- Experience liaising with all levels of an organisation and external relationship management
- A good understanding of radio production
- A relevant qualification in broadcasting, journalism or media is desirable
