Shift Leads:
The Shift Lead is responsible for assisting the General and Assistant Managers in leading and overseeing all day-to-day operations of the store including the following:
· Always lead by example!
· Have excellent organizational and time management skills
· Ability to stay calm under pressure
· Ability to take direction from GM and AM
· Are enthusiastic and outgoing with a passion for service
· Adhere to Ziggi’s Coffee policies and brand values and are eager to master recipes and procedures
· Have strong multi-tasking skills and the ability to keep in a fun, fast-paced environment
· Displays a positive attitude and maintains professionalism at all times
· Shows a passion for continuous learning – always remains coachable
General Responsibilities:
· Ensure the Ziggi’s “Standards of Service” are always in place – exceptional customer service, excellent drink/food quality, accuracy, consistency, and speed of service.
· Maintain great and consistent communication with staff, other managers, and the store owner(s).
Leading Shifts:
The Shift Lead will guide other team members during their shifts to ensure positions are being run correctly and to make sure the shift runs smoothly
· Always lead by example, have strong initiative, and adhere to all Ziggi's Coffee policies and procedures.
· Making sure staff follow all policies and procedures correctly.
Handling Money:
· Have access to the safe to exchange money from the backup change drawer when needed, to make sure registers are sufficiently stocked.
· Balance change drawer at the end of each shift?
Training:
· Shift Leads will help train new employees as well as offer continued training, support, and coaching for existing staff members to build their skills.
· Be comfortable making corrections when needed if an employee is not following a process, recipe, or procedure correctly.
· Shift Leads should be knowledgeable in all aspects of day-to-day operations
Handling Customer Service Complaints or Issues:
· Shift leads will help address any customer complaints that may arise in the absence of the General or Assistant Managers, correct the issue and relay any incidents to their General and Assistant Managers.
Additional Duties:
· Shift leads will typically have certain tasks they oversee that their General Manager can delegate to them or a specific duty they regularly oversee. Some examples may include:
o Oversee the daily checklists and weekly cleaning extras - checking that tasks are being completed and not just signed off
o Shift leads can help implement any additional monthly deep cleaning list as needed
o Making sure employees are reading the weekly emails and following up as needed
o Assist with counting inventory (as needed)
Availability Requirements:
· Part-time or full-time positions available (depending on availability)
· Must have open and flexible availability (as much as possible)
· Shift leads should be able to fill shifts where the GM, AM, and/or other Shift Leads are not present. The goal is to have as much managerial coverage in place every day during all hours of operation (including opening/closing).
· Willingness to work holidays
· Willingness to work weekends
· Willingness to help cover shifts, especially if another Shift Lead or manager is unable to come in for a shift.
Compensation:
· Compensation (DOE): an increased hourly rate of pay, plus cash tips daily.
