Westminster Village is seeking an experienced hospitality focused Staff Development Nurse Coordinator to oversee the overall nursing care/service at Westminster Village, including the accurate and timely administration of medications, treatments, documentation and emergency calls as indicated, must have a current RN license in the state of Indiana. Responsible for the development and implementation of the orientation program and on-going educational programs for all staff at Westminster Village.

Essential Job Duties:
- Coordinates direct care of residents and nursing personnel.
- Acts as a resource person for staff, family and clinical concerns and walk in and phoned in referrals.
- Administers and tracks and schedules annual Tuberculosis screening and Hepatitis B vaccines for all staff and Health Center residents.
- Maintains the updating of licensed and non-licensed staff in the nursing department so that professional licenses stay current.
- Serves on the Quality Assurance Committee, Safety Committee and Infection Control Committee and other committees as assigned.
- Keeps physicians and families aware of changes in resident’s condition.
- Works effectively with all levels of staff, other members of the patient care team, administrative personnel, clients, and client’s families and maintains an intradepartmental and interdepartmental working relationship.
- Demonstrates strong assessment and patient care evaluation skills.
- Plans, conducts and evaluates organized orientation and training programs for all newly hired nursing employees which are scheduled on a regular basis. Ensures completion of orientation and skills checklist.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a current RN license in the state of Indiana. Satisfactory performance in staff nurse or charge nurse role for a minimum of 2 years and the ability to demonstrate competence in assessment skills, teaching and training techniques.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
Frequent standing, stooping, bending, stretching, squatting; may be exposed to blood and body fluids; must be able to transport residents via wheelchair, gerichair or shower chair, pushing up to 250 lbs. unassisted. Must be able to transfer, lift, turn and position a resident weighing up to 150 lbs. unassisted, or with the assistance of one for a resident weighing over 150 lbs. Must be able to stoop, bend, stretch, squat, stand, and walk for up to 90% of the workday.
