We are seeking a highly skilled technical support engineer to join our team with a passion for providing system-level support for integrated solutions to industrial applications. As a technical support engineer, you will provide on-site support for state-of-the-art industrial laser solutions and act as the technical liaison between the customer, systems integrators, and internal resources to ensure customer installation is successful and address any issues that may arise during production accordingly. Key Areas of Responsibility:
- To be the technical support expert for IPG lasers, beam delivery, and process monitoring products.
- On-site support of system installations, user training as well as residing at customer sites as needed to be able to address issues quickly.
- Provide consultation to customers on best practices for integrating IPG products to external interfaces such as industrial robots, motion controllers, PLCs, etc.
- Troubleshooting, reporting, and resolving critical issues including coordination of internal resources.
- Understand customer expectations and align with organizational goals.
- Provide feedback and recommendations internally to help improve products and integrated solutions.
Requirements:
- BS Engineering degree, MS is a plus.
- 5+ years of experience in a similar role.
- Background in a mechanical, electrical, optical, or related engineering discipline.
- Strong communication and technical writing skills.
- Experience working with programmable controllers, motion controls, and robotic systems.
- Experience working with lasers, accessories, and related diagnostic equipment is a plus.
- Customer-facing field service or field applications support experience is a plus.
This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee. License exception Technology and software under restriction (TSR) defined in 15 CFR 740.6 may permit person from Country Group B.
