Job Description:
  • The VPF/CFOFO/CIO is responsible for translating system objectives to local strategies working in collaboration with the Chief Financial Officer. This individual will be responsible for facilitating financial and strategic success across regional operations. The VPF/CFOFO/CIO will work collaboratively with the System CEO Council members, local operational leadership and shared services leaders to ensure the effective operation of financial affairs. This individual will ensure the competency development and professional growth of the financial executives and their staff. The VPF/CFOFO/CIO will serve as an ambassador of finance and liaison between regional locations, shared service areas, SHP and the System office. This individual will build strong collaborative relationships across the System and be seen as credible and action oriented by all stakeholders.
    The VPF/CFOFO/CIO will report directly to the Chief Finance Officer of MCHS. She/he will be a key partner with the CEO Council member, Regional Presidents, Chief Integration and Service Lines Officer, and Shared Services Vice Presidents working collaboratively across the system.
    Direct reports to the VPF/CFOFO/CIO will be:
  • Vice Presidents, Finance:
    • Corporate Controller
    • Financial Analysis and Planning / Budgeting
    • System Reimbursement
  • Director of Treasury and Tax
  • VPF/CFOFO/CIO will serve as a key resource and strategic business partner to members of CEO Council on matters related to finance, strategic decision making and the development of programs, processes, and infrastructure to enhance system performance.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.
Minimum Required: Bachelor’s degree required in business administration or accounting, or a related subject field.
Preferred/Optional: Master’s degree.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum Required: Five years of executive finance experience within a complex health care organization including acute-care hospital operations, medical group practices and health plan operations.
Preferred/Optional: Ten years of executive finance experience within a complex healthcare organization.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position.
Minimum Required: Certified Public Accountant, inactive.
Preferred/Optional: Certified Public Accountant, active.
