Description:

Responsible for the welding of structural steel

Perform Flux Core welding with hard wire

Typically welding in 3G or vertical position

Required to perform cutting, repairing, and assembling of components to form complete structures.

Operate a variety of manual and automated equipment.

Check angles and gap allowances by means of precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers.

Also operate electric cranes and forklifts to transport workpieces and metal components.

Assess equipment condition to verify they are in good working order and to facilitate repairs in case of a defect or damage.

May also be required to clean and prepare metal workpieces using scrapers, chemical solutions, and grinders to ensure a smooth and contaminant-free surface

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

2-5 years welding experience in industrial or manufacturing environments

Flux Core/Hardwire Experience

AWS D1.1 cert (plus)

Pipefitter

Ironworker

Oxyfuel Cutting
