Job Summary:

Chloeta is seeking a Dentist for a dental clinic in Zia Pueblo, NM. The dentist is needed to provide coverage Monday to Friday, 8 am to 4:30 pm (Closed Thursday mornings).

Job Classification: Full-Time Contract

Supervisory Responsibilities: None unless otherwise determined by facility.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs a full array of general dentistry services for patients, including examinations, charting, lab processing, referrals, extractions, fillings, root canals, crowns, bridges, dentures, and partial dentures.
  • Determines the nature and extent of existing oral disease.
  • Develops plan for treatment of infection including antibiotic treatment, the restoration of various teeth, the extraction of teeth, and the replacement of missing teeth with bridgework or dentures.
  • Administers local anesthesia as needed.
  • Provides patient education about good dental health practices, post-operative care and participates in educational programs for the improvement of health conditions among service population.
  • Prioritizes treatment and dental care including emergency dental care within the scope of available services and programs.
  • Prioritizes immediacy of lab work and patient scheduling.
  • Performs administrative work related to the functions of providing dental services.
  • Comply with unit policies and procedures, AAAHC standards, and CMS regulations.
  • Maintain sensitive & confidential client information according to the HIPAA policy.
  • Participation in continuous performance improvement activities as they relate to the scope of work.
  • Respond to support public health emergencies, incidents, and events.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to compose and present comprehensive reports.

Education and Experience:

  • Required: Minimum of two years of relevant, successful experience.
  • Required: A DDS or DMD degree is required from an accredited program within the U.S.A.
  • Required: Must have passed the National Board Dental Examinations (NBDE).
  • Required: Must possess a current, full, unrestricted license to practice dentistry in any state, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a Territory of the United States, throughout the term of this contract.
  • Required: Must maintain a valid, current, full, and unrestricted DEA license with schedule types II through V and maintain certification throughout the term of the contract.
  • Required: Provide 3 professional references. Must provide three current letters of reference from other health care providers familiar with the dentist’s practice skills within the same discipline.
  • Required: Current and valid Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) or other certification(s) as requested by the facility.
  • Required: Maintain credentialing and continuing education hours annually or as required to maintain licensure.
  • Required: Must have and maintain a current driver's license throughout the contract period.
  • Preferred: Certified by the American Board of Endodontic Dentistry.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to withstand physical and emotional stress.
  • Requires long hours of standing and moving.
  • Able to frequently lift at least 50 lbs., reach, pull, push, bend, stoop, and kneel.
  • At the time of hire, must provide a fitness for duty certificate issued by a licensed physician to perform the proposed job without significant risk to personal health or the health and safety of others.
  • At the time of hire, must provide documentation of evidence of immunizations as required by the facility's immunization policy.

Pre-employment Requirements:

This position may be contingent upon passing a security clearance, criminal background check (state and federal), drug screen, Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) review, education verification, employment verification, and/or credit check after acceptance of an offer and prior to beginning work, due to the nature of the services Chloeta provides and the responsibilities of this position.


Drug and Alcohol Testing:

To enforce Chloeta’s Drug and Alcohol Testing Policy, an employee or candidate could be subject to undergoing a drug screen and/or alcohol testing at the beginning of employment, as well as after commencement of employment where there is reasonable suspicion of intoxication, or following an automobile or other accident, or as part of a company or facility-wide random drug screen process.


Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA):

Under the FCRA, Chloeta may request a credit check during the onboarding process. A written authorization form will be required before obtaining credit records.


Emergency Response:

Every Chloeta employee has regular and recurring emergency management responsibilities, though not every position requires routine deployment to disaster sites. All positions are subject to recall around the clock for emergency management operations, which may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the official Duty Station, and may include duties other than those specified in the employee's official Position Description (PD). Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.
