Job description
Reports To: Director, Information Technology, under supervision of Sr. Network Administrator
Responsibilities:
- Day to Day monitoring & management of network systems including LAN, WAN, A/D, routers, switches, access points, bridges, etc
- Manage wireless systems including Ubiquity over VLan network.
- Develop and maintain network documentation.
- Oversee ISP services and accounts.
- Install software, OS updates, and manage patches.
- Desktop & Laptop computers, develop and improve on build specs, and assist in building and deploying.
- Assist in DR planning relative to Network services.
- Act as lead in field work, when required. (Assist in remote locations, technical and cosmetic.)
- Spec or build Ethernet cables, tone and troubleshoot wiring as needed.
Qualifications:
- 5-7 years experience in network administrative capacity.
- Moderate to strong MS Office applications skills required.
- BA/BS or advanced degree in computer sciences or related field preferred.
- Familiarity managed and unmanaged switches, Dell, HP, Cisco, Adtran, etc.
- Strong knowledge of Cisco Firewalls.
- Advanced knowledge of AD, Group Policies, Firewall software/appliances, Windows Server & Routers a requirement.
- Ability to do travel work after hours / weekends.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent intrapersonal skills.
Advantages a plus:
- CISCO certifications on modern firewalls a big Plus.
- Network security training.
- Familiarity with VMWare and Veeam Backup.
- Close Proximity to Office (easy commute if afterhours events).
