Qualifications:

• 7+ years of experience chemical engineering
• Experience scaling-up process technology or chemical production, from lab to pilot scale or pilot to commercial
• Bach or PHD chemical engineering / similar degree
• Experience on the instruments side and mechanical aptitude
• Government programs for safety such as PSM / RMP / DOT / GMP
• Polymer reaction synthesis experience
• Experience with chemical engineering unit operations and reactor design and sizing equipment
• Reaction Modeling experience

Day to Day: Insight Global is looking for an experienced Sr Scientist/engineer to join the group research team at a large company in Wyandotte MI. We are looking from someone with expertise in process research & product development, as well as scale-up to support. This position is responsible for supporting the technologies and requests from our business partners—this includes consulting, experimental testing, pilot scale development, and repetitive manufacturing. The team works closely with product development, commercial implementation, corporate engineering, and manufacturing to ensure that the scientific results and the new products are supplied on time and within expectations of our business partners. Additional responsibilities include:

• Partner with business groups, colleagues, research chemists and engineers to discover, develop and scale-up the piloting and manufacturing processes to meet business needs within specified project timeline
• Develop operating disciplines, policies and operating procedures for safe pilot plant trials and safe small-scale production
• Plan and safely execute projects for technology demonstration and data generation. Properly document environmental emissions, waste disposal, and equipment cleaning
• Assess safety procedures and policies, participate in HAZOP process. Lead safety review of existing, new and start-ups of processes and assets
• Contribute to operator training to improve technical knowledge of technicians
• Provide engineering support and training to colleagues, technicians, and community to setup, troubleshoot, operate, and optimize asset

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday

Experience:

• Chemical engineering: 7 years (Preferred)
• government programs for safety such as PSM, RMP, DOT or GMP: 1 year (Preferred)
• polymer reaction synthesis: 1 year (Preferred)
