As a Systems Engineer for Unmanned Systems, you will be a critical member of the Persistent Program Team. You will support the definition of technical requirements for new Unmanned System programs for Unmanned Aerial and/or Ground Vehicles and provide technical support for existing programs involving Defense, Communications, Intelligence, Special Operations. You will play a pivotal role in communicating technical challenges to our engineering department as you strive to solve problems. You will be integral in supporting program development as you will have insight into customer challenges and program needs and will work closely across the entire Persistent Systems team including Sales, Field Operations, Product Management, Engineering, and Quality.

Position Responsibilities

• Build customer relationships with program clients through managing and interpreting their requirements and conveying progress to the Management team
• Contributing to program effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-term issues; providing information and commentary pertinent to deliberations; and recommending options and courses of action
• Developing test plans, methodologies followed by final reports and summaries for internal and external customers
• Troubleshooting customers’ communication systems and collaborating with the Sales, Engineering, and Field Operations teams to resolve technical issues.
• Developing technical portions of responses to RFI / RFP and other similar customer requirements
• Maintaining expert knowledge of Persistent Systems products to evaluate and maintain program objectives
• Working closely with Engineering by providing feedback from information gathered during program activities
• Communicating Persistent Systems' solutions to technical and non-technical clients and end-users for UAS and/or UGV applications
• Working directly with Persistent’s delivered MANET equipment for use ranging from ground-based to airborne to subterranean, working with customers including Defense, Federal, other military / law enforcement, and commercial organizations

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering, or Computer Science or equivalent demonstrated experience in one or more of these disciplines
• Experience with UAS and/or UGV platform programs from concept to delivery
• Proficiency in technical concepts such as wireless, mobile IP, RF propagation with an understanding of hardware and software concepts
• Proficiency in networking concepts such as IP routing and switching and VPN architectures
• Understanding of product development and systems architecture design
• Experience working directly with customers and end users
• Strong interpersonal and communications skills, written and verbal
• Must be available to travel up to 50% of the time
• Ability to obtain a Secret US Security Clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace, Systems Engineering, or Computer Science
• 3+ years of experience with Unmanned Aerial Systems
• Proficiency using programing languages such as Python, C, C++, Java
• Proficiency in data collection and analysis
• Proficiency in advanced technical software packages such as Solidworks, and/or MATLAB
• Net+, Sec+, CCNA, or CWNA certifications
• Experience with wireless concepts such as MANET, Mesh, Ad-hoc, protocols and web architecture, with an understanding of hardware and software concepts
• DoD Information Operations and Cyber Security experience
• Possess an active Secret US Security Clearance
